Introduction About Our Institute
Sri Laxmi Kishori College (SLK College) is a renowned institution of higher education located in Sitamarhi, Bihar, India. Established on October 20, 1970, by the late Kishori Lal Sah, the college was named combinedly in the honor of his brother, the late Laxmi Sah. The founding vision was to make higher education accessible to marginalized and underserved sections of society.
In 1980, SLK College became a constituent unit of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), Muzaffarpur. This affiliation facilitated significant academic growth and development. Today, the college offers undergraduate programs in Arts, Science, and Commerce, providing education to students from the local region as well as neighboring areas.
SLK College is known for its qualified and dedicated faculty who engage in both teaching and research activities. The institution boasts well-equipped laboratories and a rich library, enhancing the learning experience for its students.
In recent years, the college administration has initiated an ambitious expansion plan to extend the campus to its property in Shanti Nagar. This project has received substantial support from the university administration and various communities reflecting the collective commitment to advancing educational opportunities in the region.
श्री लक्ष्मी किशोरी महाविद्यालय माँ सीता की अवतरण भूमि पर सीतामढ़ी में अवस्थित एक ख्याति प्राप्त उच्च शिक्षा केंद्र के रूप में प्रख्यात है | इसकी स्थापना समाज के उन वर्ग के आकाँक्षाओं का प्रतिक है जो उच्च शिक्षा को समाज से वंचित तथा उपेक्षित तबके के लिए सुलभ करवाना चाहते थे | सन १९७० में दिवंगत किशोरी लाल साह का संकल्प , दूर दृस्टि तथा दृढ निश्चय इस महाविद्यालय के रूप में सामने आया | उन्होंने अपने भाई स्व लक्ष्मी साह के संयुक्त नाम से इसकी स्थापना की |
संस्थापक का सपना आज परवान चढ़ रहा है | १९८० में अंगीभूतिकरण के पश्चात इस महाविद्यालय को राज्य के विद्वान शिक्षाविदों का भारी सहयोग प्राप्त हुआ है |आज यहाँ कला विज्ञानं तथा वाणिज्य निकायों में स्नातक प्रतिष्ठा स्तर के अध्यापन की सुविधा का लाभ न सिर्फ इस क्षेत्र के छात्र – छात्रा वरम पड़ोसी देश के छात्र – छात्रा भी ले रहे हैं |सुयोग्य , कर्मठ तथा प्रतिबद्ध प्राध्यपकों द्वारा अधयापन तथा शोध कार्य का निष्पादन किया जा रहा है | स्तरीय प्रयोगशाला तथा समृद्ध पुस्तकालय इस महाविद्यालय की विशेषता है |
अभी महाविद्यालय प्रशासन ने एक महत्वाकांक्षी विस्तार योजना के तहत महाविद्यालय परिसर का विस्तार शांति नगर स्थित अपने जमीन परिसर में करने का निश्चय किया है | इसमें विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन सहित समाज के सभी वर्गों का भरी सहयोग प्राप्त हो रहा है | जिसके लिए हम उनके आभारी हैं |
